[ really love the amount of thought tsukasa gives anything at any given time. but there is... that. ]
From the day he pulled me out of the trash, yeah.
[ his expression's wry but still thoughtful with that. ]
You know, he could've told me to bug off when I asked him to help me solve Senpai's murder. He's the one who had the power first, he didn't have to do anything. But he wanted to find the truth as much as I did, and he wanted to help me before I did something stupid. He's the most reliable person I've ever met.
[Tsukasa hums a little, finally starting to gather up the dishes he's used to wash them while they wait for the nikujaga to cook.]
But that is what I expected. I didn't think you would think so highly of someone who would just give up or turn away when confronted with a situation like that.
[ he kind of grins a little because... yeah. yeah, he supposes that's true. he doesn't rush tsukasa from doing the dishes, but he does write his next message for whenever he's done. ]
Yeah, yeah. You can tell him how hard I've been working when he wakes up, how about that?
He puts a hand to his chest, other outstretched, voice pitched as if to project in a theater.]
Our story begins in the depths of an uncanny, unsettling forest! Little did the travelers in this forest know, not only had their journey just begun, but there were monstrous creatures waiting to scoop them up into their webs as soon as they let their guards down.
Luckily for one such traveler, the hero of our story was not daunted by giant spiders, even giant spiders who said very mean things--
[ he's just darting ahead and continue using this towel as a weapon to deter him. not the spiders!!! god he really did forget for a hot second tsukasa has been with him this whole damn time.
friendship, as it turns out, really is just suffering that you're happy about. ]
Yosuke just chases Tsukasa around the kitchen with a dish towel for awhile I guess. Tsukasa absolutely will take every chance he gets to continue his "skit", but eventually, after getting whapped enough times with the towel, Tsukasa sticks his nose in the air with a faux-huffy sniff.]
Hmph!! Fine, fine, I understand when my art is not appreciated! Regardless, the nikujaga should be finished, so here, come portion out how much you'd like.
[ he just gives a little smug smile like he has something to be proud of. he does not. he was a brat to someone who is being kind and making him food. but he wanders over to take a look at the pot and take the lid off, sniffing again before grabbing two bowls. he nudges one into tsukasa's hands before he does portion some out for himself. ]
Smells delicious. I can already picture how good it tastes.

He really does sound remarkable.

Nah. That idiot never knows how to look away from the truth.
[ fond. ]
He also never knows how to give up, on me or any of the rest of us. That's what makes him our leader.
no subject
I see...
That is true. That is one of the best qualities you could ask for from a leader.
[He smiles, glancing over at Yosuke over his scrubbing.]
And now you are returning the favor!
[Not giving up on Yu, no matter what it takes.]

Yeah, yeah. You can tell him how hard I've been working when he wakes up, how about that?
[ he is not serious, please don't do that. ]
no subject
Yes, I've intended to this whole time!
[rip, yosuke]
no subject
Tsukasa, no. That's REALLY not necessary!
no subject
Of course it is!
I was even considering doing so in the format of a short skit--
[is he serious
is he joking
it could go either way]

[Tsukasa's laugh is bright and loud and proud, of course.]
I guarantee it will be even better than you think!
[He takes the bowl willingly, though, and scoops out some of the nikujaga for himself once Yosuke is done.
Then he moves the pot off the heat, turns off the stove, and moves to the counter to eat.]

Dude, this is amazing?
How are you so good at this?

He's an acts of service guy, so seeing Yosuke enjoy the meal so much makes him really happy.]
As expected of the Tenma family recipes, of course!! Even so, it really is just a matter of a little bit of practice.
[A lot of practice.]
