All of us on our team have 'em. They were made so we could see through the fog in the Midnight Channel. I started thinking they might be useful here, too.

It's innovative in its own way. They don't stand out and are functional, a hidden in plain view tool. Whoever made them knew what they were doing.

As much as I hate giving him credit because it'll go to his head, Teddie knew exactly what we needed. Kinda helps that he was born over in that world though, so he knew how to see already.

Couple of weeks ago when I was exploring with a couple of other guys, we found a monster that was stalking us through the fog. That was part of the reason I brought 'em along again this time.

Maybe they're people who came before us who were supposed to do the same thing and couldn't get their people back.

I did have that thought, but that would mean that - is what people will become if they keep refusing to be open.

It could've been a warning for us because of what we were talking about the other week. We don't know how much this maze really listens to us.

They witness us enough to know if we're moving forward or not.

Then we can't even rule out that it is some kind of warning. If they knew we were exploring, maybe that's why they made sure we'd see that, specifically.

If anyone even after getting their shard is being reluctant, we can spread the knowledge.

It can't hurt. I think it's better for all of us to be sharing what we know to begin with, reluctance or not. [ though... ] Dahut and I were kind of talking about this. How it's a lot of work to go through this for people. I don't want to think that there're people who're reluctant still, but maybe there are. If they didn't anticipate what this place really would be like.

We can't guarantee honesty or sincerity in answers, and not everyone talks to each other. There's no straightforward way to disseminate information unless we get everyone to gather or put up a notice everyone can see.

Dahut was thinking of making a system to mount outside of the manor, but until then word of mouth or even a notice could work. Depends how worth it we think it is. [ a hand comes up to fiddle with some of the tulip petals. ]

Fair point about the honesty though. I would like to think people don't have much of a reason to lie anymore, but... secrets are still secrets.

This place won't let us hide everything, but likewise, it can't show everything. It pulls some things out of us, but if people are on the precipice of failing, are you going to reach out to them?
