THE ONLY REASON HE DIDN'T is because he literally just helped embalm Yosuke's NPC corpse back to life so he's like "well clearly normal ass laws of logic and physics do not apply here, including to life and death(???)".

He's absolutely engaging the mechanic to reel Yosuke back up fastly as soon as he feels the tug back though. YOSUKE!!!!!!! He will be reeled up like a lil fish, the harness putting most pressure on his back as Dahut had explained. There is also a surprising amount of force in this little motor so maybe he will go nyooming right out...]

[ well he still has a cut on his hand so even then. but regardless!! the mechanism is triggered and the harness tightens, the pulley kicking in as it reels him straight out of the river.

i rolled an 8, so once again the shit luck stat kicks in and he lands right on his face, ass up and harness heavy. ]

Dude it's fine, if this is the only thing left I'll take it. [ for a few reasons, but he won't tell dahut that. he holds out his paw for examination though, cut still on his hand but not really bleeding.

It was too long! Definitely pushing the limits of what a human could handle! If you breathed in water for a certain amount of time, it would be easy enough to resuscitate you with just a few broken bones, so I decided that was an okay risk, but I was really starting to get worried...

Then that's a good thing. We don't have to worry about that part failing or anything, which is nice if this really is our only means to heal right now.

It's better than nothing, at least! [THAT IS certainly true...] But will you let me know if anything changes? Either physically or mentally, though I guess the latter might be a little harder to pick up on if you're the one living through the changes.

Um! It would depend on what changed, really, but documenting it thoroughly would be the first step. Investigations, if possible! Examinations! Anything that could help tie what's happening to the river. Figuring out how it works isn't as high priority as some other things, but it couldn't hurt to try.
