[Off to the kitchen with them! Tsukasa keeps up a steady stream of chatter as they go because he is a Yapper.

And once they're there, he starts to pull out all of the ingredients they need, humming.]

We may need to substitute rice for the shirataki noodles, if you are amenable to that.

[ he appreciates the yap because he cannot yap :(

he leans against the counter for a moment to watch tsukasa go, but he does wander a little closer when he speaks and scribbles on his notebook again. ]

I'm good with that. I like rice just as well.

[Besides which, it's good for both of them to keep themselves busy, surely.

While Yosuke starts to handle the rice, Tsukasa starts setting up his mise en place for the nikujaga. Measuring out the seasonings, the dashi, the mirin, the soy sauce, chopping veggies...]

I know that we don't really need to eat here, but... hm, well. It feels better to do so, and to keep up some sort of schedule as much as possible.

[ that's correct, they are the same brand of busybody where he needs stuff to do. he will busy himself with the rise and doesn't reply for a moment because he doesn't have hands. but once the rice is set up to cook, he's back to writing. ]

Food doesn't always have to be just about feeding yourself when you're hungry anyway. Sometimes it's nice to do it with friends or as a nice gesture for somebody or, like you said, a routine.
Helps the days be less confusing.

[When everything is properly measured out, chopped and prepared, then Tsukasa starts to put together the actual stew.

Which is very easy at that point. Really just dump everything into the pot and let it simmer.]

Precisely! This may sound a little strange, but...

Well yeah, I'd be a little more surprised if you didn't.
This is way out of your element, so you want to go back to what makes sense.
You know how it works, so it feels less daunting than trying to figure out how to deal with the hard and scary stuff here.
